Product

Why X-Lam.

Cross-laminated timber is made of spruce lamellas glued in layers alternating at 90°. The result is a solid, stable panel that carries loads in both directions.

Two-way load-bearing panels

Load-bearing walls, floors and roofs in a single material, with high in-plane stiffness.

Dry assembly

Panels arrive cut to size from the factory. The site is faster, cleaner and more predictable.

Seismic performance

Low weight and ductile connections make X-Lam suitable for seismic areas, such as Italy and Romania.

CNC precision

Openings, holes and joints are machined in the factory to the millimetre, following our shop drawings.

Sustainable material

Timber from managed forests that stores CO₂ for the whole life of the building.

Living comfort

Warm, healthy spaces, with exposed timber where desired and good thermal performance.

Frequently asked questions

Buying KLH CLT.

Can't find the answer? Call us on +39 345 391 1382.

Who do I buy the panels from?

Directly from KLH. Contract, supply and delivery are with the factory. Costyedil is the technical partner supporting you in Italy.

What do you need to get started?

The architectural design is enough: plans, sections and elevations in PDF or DWG, or a 3D model in IFC or SketchUp. With this data we calculate areas, thicknesses and the number of panels.

Do you also need an assembly team?

Assembly is carried out by external companies specialised in X-Lam. On request, we coordinate it and follow the site, together with design and shop drawings.

Where do you work?

We handle projects throughout Italy and Romania. For other countries we assess each project: we have wide international experience.

Areas served in Italy

What thicknesses and sizes are available?

We use the standard KLH range for walls, floors and roofs, with different surface qualities. Together we choose the right build-up for the project. Find your size here.

Do you work with contractors and resellers?

Yes. We support contractors, carpenters and designers who want to offer X-Lam buildings to their clients, with detailed design and on-site support.

The founder

Why work with Costi Tistea?

Choosing a CLT specialist should not come down to the price of the material or the promise of a fast build. In a CLT building, the difference is made by the experience of someone who understands the whole process: from design and optimisation to production, CNC, logistics and assembly on site.

Costi Tistea is a Team Leader and CLT construction expert, one of the most experienced consultants in the field. He leads Costyedil, KLH technical partner in Italy, and Case CLT, KLH and PABST technical partner in Romania.

01

Hands-on experience, not just theory

Direct experience on CLT building sites, with projects in several countries, including Italy, Siberia, Singapore, Taiwan and the Maldives.

02

From design to assembly

A CLT project has to be planned around the structure, connections, panel sizes, CNC, transport and assembly sequence: preliminary sizing, engineering calculations, construction documents, assembly drawings and assembly planning.

03

Attention to detail

Those who work with him describe him in three words: reliability, dedication and precision. Mihai Toader-Pasti, co-founder and General Manager of EFdeN, highlights his focus on quality and that he makes no compromises when looking for technical solutions.

04

Problems solved before they reach site

CLT is an industrialised system: an error of a few centimetres in the design or in the position of a connection can cause serious problems in production and assembly. Practical experience spots them before they turn into extra costs.

05

Focused on the solution

The goal is not just to supply the material but to find the right construction solution for the project, assessing feasibility and costs before moving on to the next stages.

06

International experience

A real advantage in a field where design, production and assembly follow European and international standards and practice. Revista din Lemn called him “one of the best CLT specialists”.

07

An integrated approach

Consultancy, design, optimisation, construction documents, logistics and assembly coordination: less risk of responsibilities being split between teams that do not talk to each other.

In short

Choose Costi Tistea if you are not just looking for someone to supply CLT, but for a professional who knows what it really means to build with CLT.

And with CLT, the cheapest option is not always the most economical: the right one cuts errors, waste and site problems before they arise.
